TK·02 / THE PREMISE

A club is not a building.
It is the habit a city forms around one.

New rooms rarely fail on sound or location. They fail quietly, on drift: one-off parties, uneven quality, no identity for anyone to fall in love with. The city never learns what the room stands for, so it never learns to return.

Tight Knit will replace drift with rhythm via a recurring, well-branded event series with consistent curation, deliberate production, and strong marketing and promotion. This promotion will begin 6+ weeks out rather than days before. We strive to give people an experience they can trust, and hope they will plan their month around it. That trust compounds: for the series, and for Pandora beneath it.

Our mission is simple: to provide experiences that are so well curated, so well executed, and so well promoted that anyone who attends a Tight Knit & Friends event already knows they will attend the next.

TK·03 / THE OPERATORS

Dan Knots

Dan Knots

CURATOR · PROMOTER · DESIGN & CONTENT LEAD

Dan is a Richmond-based designer and DJ who cut his teeth in the DC scene during the 2010s, promoting and managing events at venues like Flash and U Street Music Hall while working with promotion groups like Glow and Nü Androids. Dan is as comfortable running campaigns that live on the street as he is running social media presences. He has tour-managed and artist-managed talent on the festival circuit, booked and furnished national and international headliners, and holds relationships that can land established names when the budget exists. By day he is a staff product designer, and he brings that same research-driven discipline to every lineup, every flyer, and every room: taste, measured.

Jon Jar

Jon Jar

CURATOR · PROMOTER · LOCAL NETWORK LEAD

Engineer, producer, and DJ with twelve years behind the decks, Jon has been a fixture of the house and techno scene since the 2010s. His network of local talent and loyal attendees runs deep, built across countless events of his own and steady work with venues across the city. Jon brings the roster, the crowd, and a producer's ear for exactly what a room needs.

TK·04 / THE RECEIPTS

The expensive lessons are already paid for, on other people's stages.

  • A DC, the 2010s: promotion and event management with Flash, U Street Music Hall, Glow, and Nü Androidz.
  • B The festival circuit: tour and artist management; major acts booked, advanced, and furnished without drama.
  • C Marketing: social and guerrilla campaigns that filled rooms on craft, not ad spend.
  • D Industry ties: favors worth calling in, and headliners reachable a year before everyone else can afford them.
  • E RVA, now: active sets, events, and a livestream channel already gathering the audience Pandora will inherit.

TK·05 / THE MODEL

Start monthly. Earn weekly.

(Scalability is in the blueprint, not the demands. We have no interest in owning Pandora's calendar: we launch at Phase 1, hold there, and expand only when you ask us to.)

PHASE 1 · MONTHS 1–3

Monthly

One flagship night a month: full promotion cycle, full content capture, full polish. We prove the draw and set the standard before asking the calendar for anything more.

PHASE 2 · AS THE NUMBERS HOLD

Bi-monthly

Two nights a month, once the door and the bar agree it is time. The second night arrives as a sister series with its own curation, so the room never repeats itself.

PHASE 3 · EARNED, NEVER ASSUMED

Weekly

The anchor night a city schedules its life around. We scale here only when the data insists. No empty Thursdays in the service of ego.

There is a second shape to this, same standard: several monthly series, each driven by a dedicated curating partner. Distinct brands, distinct sounds, one shared bar for production, promotion, and content. Either path gives Pandora a calendar the city can read.

TK·06 / SERIES 01

The Tangle

A concept from Dan Knots, carried from his livestream and YouTube channel into a physical room. The idea: bring east coast headliners to Richmond and surround them with a rotating cast of local openers, refreshed every event, so no one ever feels they are watching the same bill twice.

Here, genre is choreography rather than dogma. Each night is sequenced as a journey of continuity and contrast, an answer to the purist lineup that treats a change of style as a betrayal. The tangle is the point.

TK·07 / SERIES 02

Jon Jar presents

A second series, curated end to end by Jon: his sound, his network, his crowd. The concept reveal follows the Tangle's proof, built on the same Tight Knit standard of production, promotion, and content.

Two distinct series means two distinct audiences, and two reasons a month for Pandora to be full, with neither night feeding on the other.

TK·08 / PRODUCTION PHILOSOPHY

Nothing on stage but the music.

We are audiophiles before we are promoters. Production exists to hold the listener inside the sound, never to compete with it: down spots, fixed moving heads, one or two colors alive at a time. No strobing chaos, no visual noise. Restraint is the signature, so that when the light finally moves, it means something.

LIGHT · 1–2 COLORS RIG · DOWNSPOTS + FIXED HEADS SOUND · TUNED, HONEST, LOUD ENOUGH

TK·09 / THE CONTENT ENGINE

Every night feeds the next one.

Professional photography and edited video from every event, turned around while the night is still warm in people's feeds. The hype never gets a chance to cool between dates.

Season over season this becomes a backlog of recap films, sets, and stills: an asset library Pandora can draw on in its own marketing, indefinitely.

And the livestream and YouTube channel carry each night past the walls of the room, putting Pandora's name in front of people who have not yet walked through its door.

TK·10 / THE PLATFORM

Infolines, included.

Infolines is a platform Dan built for independent event culture: discovery for attendees, a direct channel for the venues and promoters the big-ticket platforms never bothered to serve.

Pandora receives it free of charge. Listings, reach, and a modern face for the calendar, at zero cost and zero lift.

In return, this residency becomes its proving ground: a real room, real nights, and a user base that grows with the series. The app's mission lives through this project, and Pandora gets to be its first home.

TK·11 / GROWTH MECHANICS

The room fills itself, early and often.

A working model, not a fixed menu: we will hold these mechanics and prices up against the data and indicators from our first events in the room, and refine both around how Pandora's crowd actually behaves.

$15

GENERAL ADMISSION

A fair door that signals quality without gatekeeping, priced for the regulars this model is built on.

$10 before 10:30

PROMOTER GUEST LISTS

Promoter-granted lists carry a $5 discount for arrival by 10:00–10:30pm. The room fills early, the energy starts sooner, and the bar gains an hour.

+DJs

THE PROMOTER NETWORK

We grow the team by deputizing local DJs and devoted regulars. Their reach becomes ours, awareness scales organically, and the cost stays at zero.

THE COMPOUNDING EFFECT

Every list grows the database, every recap grows the feed, every full early room grows the reputation. None of it needs paid media to work.

TK·12 / THE ASK

One night a month. Three months. Then we read the numbers together.

A pilot, not a marriage: we launch The Tangle as a monthly series and let the door, the bar, and the content do the arguing. If the data says scale, we scale.

  1. 01
Tight Knit brings: booking, promotion, design, photo and video, VJ and tech support, guest list operations, and Infolines, free of charge.
  2. 02
Pandora brings: the room, the sound, the bar, and a recurring date we can promote weeks in advance.
  3. 03
We review together: attendance, bar performance, and audience growth after night three, then set the cadence as partners.

Let's give Richmond a night it can plan its life around.

TK·13 / THE BOTTOM LINE

For the business side: zero cost, shared upside, risk carried by us.

$0

COST TO PANDORA

Booking, promotion, design, photo and video, guest list operations, and the Infolines platform all arrive with Tight Knit. No retainer, no marketing invoice, no staffing ask beyond a normal night.

RISK

ABSORBED BY TIGHT KNIT

A poorly promoted, planned, or executed event is our loss to carry: our booking spend, our production hours, our brand on the line. Pandora's downside is a quiet night it would have had anyway.

JULY

LOCALS-ONLY DEBUT

A locals night debuts the Tight Knit promotion brand and level-sets real performance numbers in the room before a dollar goes to headline talent.

AUG

THE TANGLE 001

The first flagship lands early to mid August, promoted six weeks out, with the locals-night data already shaping the plan.

We are not asking to own Pandora's calendar, rename its walls, or stand between you and your regulars. We are asking to leave our mark in a formal, professional way, and to grow the room with you for as long as the numbers and the partnership feel right to both sides.
